This correspondence serves as confirmation of your engagement of my services, Nancy Tardibuono, to:
Examine Autopsy Reports
Examine Toxicology Reports
Examine Scene and/or Autopsy Photographs
Examine Police Reports
Evaluate Witness and Expert Testimonies/Statements

In accordance with our agreement, I will be providing services as an independent contractor. My compensation for the services rendered is not contingent upon the conclusions I reach, nor on the results of any legal proceedings, mediation, arbitration, or the terms of any settlement related to the underlying legal matter, nor on any contractual arrangements made between you and any third party.
The minimum non-refundable fee for my services is set at $1,500.00, which must be paid in full upon signing this letter and returning it to me. This initial fee encompasses reviews, reports, research, and necessary communications with relevant parties connected to the deceased, covering up to 20 billable hours. Should additional hours be necessary, these will be chargeable at a rate of $75.00 per hour, pending prior approval. Until the payment for the engagement fee clears, you are not authorized to designate me as either a testifying or non-testifying expert.
Investigative Research Fees:
Occasionally, I may need to submit Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) requests to the pertinent jurisdiction for this investigation. Each FOIL request incurs a fee of $25.00 in addition to $1.00 per page.
This agreement will be governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any disputes arising under this agreement shall be adjudicated in the trial courts of Westchester County, State of New York.
